The Ford Duratorq engine, commonly referred to as Duratorq, is the marketing name of a range of Ford diesel engines first introduced in 2000 for the Ford Mondeo range of cars. 3 posts · Joined 2011. #1 · Dec 17, 2021. Hi learned people. my elderly parents have a Ford Galaxy 2.0 tdci, it struggle to start. they turn the key and it sort of fires but doesn’t catch. It takes 15 - 30 attempts to get it started. if you redline it before turning it off it seems to start without issue but you have to give it some.
